You should look at how globe did their hydro flip! It makes xl's look like crap. I don't know how easy it would be to convert an existing trailer to, but it's super clean looking.

    Razororange and Oxbow Thank this.

Yes that is a push truck at the back end.
It's a 19 axle. Appears to be a steering failure of some kind, the Achilles heel of the design.

Globe has a nice one, but when flipped the brackets stick out about 8 inches in the back so globe takes 8 inches out of the deck to keep it a 53 ft wagon. Neither one has a stinger flip just axle flip. This winter I'm going to get with my welder guy and play around to figure one out.

The Globe hydraulic flip is sweet, not sure it is worth the added weight though. They are trying to sell us on the idea of a 4 axle 55 Ton Extendable with a tandem jeep. It has the third as a lift & the 4th flips. I am against that setup as it prevents you from having a stinger in the future, also since some states don't recognize a closed 4 group or derate it, it would just be dead weight.

They told us they won't/don't build a 55 Ton Extendable for use with a stinger. If we want that capability it would have to be a 60 Ton & the added weight kind of negates the benefits. Not to mention it is at least 4 months down the road if we put the order in today, was told 6 months was probably more realistic.

They are currently working on a hydraulic stinger flip. Saw both at a dealer here in Houston. They brought their trailers they had at the show in Vegas to this dealer & they had all those goodies on them.

As far as the stinger flip goes, they have a functioning one, but they have determined they need bigger hydraulic cylinders on it. It will pick it up enough that you can grab it by hand & push it over, but it won't make the whole trip on its own.

Currently looking at a Trail King TK110HED with a 4th flip & spreader bar. The dealer has one coming in the end of this month & another coming in at the end of July that don't have anybody's name on them yet. A bit more money but it's TK & available now.

I've already commented and I don't want to beat a dead horse but I can see in advantage to a 55 ton with a jeep.

Well with a closed 4 most states we run in will only give 70k on the group, that would only give me 88k payload, 78k in states that dont recognize the 4 at all.

That's why I'm not interested in the Globe trailer & pushing for the TK with a tandem stinger. With that setup I will technically be able to max the trailer out & axle it, though I don't intend to max it out.

But ultimately, it's not my money so I'll have to work with whatever we get.
