IL allows 48K per tandem. As he sits they wouldn't even blink an eye at letting him run 108K. Many states allow well over 40K on a tandem and I have yet to run into one that will ask or check any equipment ratings.

So. I am currently having a W9 built. I called the dealer a few weeks in, to up the drive rating from 40 to 46k. He said I was too late to make any changes.
So... you all think I could permit say, up to 46k on the truck and not have to be worried?

I know you can, that orange T800 I posted last night had 40,000 rears and I put 47,000 on them all the time.

OK, when you are that heavy, like over 100k, do you take extra precautions? Do you try to avoid sharp turns and turnarounds, or slow down extra too much for any bumps? I have never been that heavy before and felt like I should be super extra careful?

Also how is your braking ability when you are so heavy on five axles?

This is where experience and skill come into play. A heavy load handles different than a light one, you do everything a little different.

All of them have the option to do so. That is the only one that has checked me. I have had several states check tire rating. I don’t get a lot of inspections but stop for permit review at nearly every open scale I pass.

Is anyone likely to say something- no

Can they - Yes and when they do it will be an expensive fix

This is true, Ohio checked my tire rating on a set of 19.5’s on a ramp trailer we used to have.
