I pulled the clause out of my old crane contract and put it in the trucking contract that says once I'm on private property, it's "on you" including any damage to my equipment. Somewhere I have a picture of a wrecker pulling my 90t out on a "new road" & the steers on the wrecker are 4' off the ground.

 

Unloaded the excavator yesterday in Irving, TX then loaded this wrecked water wagon this morning in Pueblo West, CO and unloaded little bit ago in Longmont, CO. Spending night in Frederick as only have 5 minutes left on my 70 till after midnight. Then go get truck washed an fueled and head home till next week

Earned my money today - after the customer built the road to get me in. Learned a few things today-

Temp roads suck at 180k

Dropping a booster on a loaded trailer on a significant side hill sucks even more

Patience is rewarded and now have a very happy customer - so remember even when everything is screwed up - just relax and work through it - it is specialized freight not that other stuff that lives in those trailers with doors

 

Wish I had checked this earlier. I came through Birmingham earlier, woulda detoured over to Leeds and if nothing else, offered another set if eyes. If you're still down that way, you're only bout 70 miles south of the house. Did you go to Lehigh or Hubble?

 

Neither, the owner is expanding EPC on hwy 25 (you know that little goat path of US 78?)

They are bringing in a number of very large injection molding machines, my load was the first of 10 that will all be over 100k, but no one considered getting big trailer into the tiny plant on the side of a hill. I would have been easy to spot - parked on the side of US 78 since Monday.

I am stacked up now, going to fly to AZ in the AM and be back Tuesday night, if you are in B'ham check on my truck at the J on 65 and make sure it's ok. No time to find a better place as I did not get out until after 5 today

That J is the closest to the airport, but for future info, in case you do another one, go east on 78 bout 3 more miles, cross over 20 and there's a Valero with a fairly large lot. Got a good lil restaurant inside. Don't know bout any adult beverages though! Lol. I gotta go through B'ham a couple times for family deals, so I'll def swing by. Enjoy your holidays best ya can.
