I didn’t say it wasn’t there just that it’s not a common setup for California from what I know.

Well it is not a legal configuration for California

Quad axle groups are not legal and cannot be permitted- and California would never give 80k on an axle group.

Secondly, in order to get bonus axle weight (purple or green) you must have 18’ 1” spacing from the first axle in a group to the first axle in the next group - otherwise you are close coupled and they reduce the weight allowed based on the lowest legal axle weights for the various inner bridge. So that would be a tandem non bonus axle weight of about 40k.

Just because they loaded it doesn’t make it legal or correct. That setup is very likely to be placed out of service and ticketed for a large dollar amount.

If this is yours or someone you know - they should buy a lottery ticket if they got out alive.

Yes this makes me angry - I like others have made the financial investment in having legal and compliant equipment required to do this work. So some ####### can come in and underbid and take work from the companies that should be hauling it.

Nothing funny about this at all.

Here is what it looks like when it is done legally.

Yes you can also do it with a California legal 16 tire 7 axle (3 axle tractor 16 tire Jeep and 16 tire trailer).

The 621s are light enough that some standard 7 axles can haul them. 88k is not doable a standard 7 axle and only the lightest 16 tire guys could do it legally

@Rontonio No need to get your panties all in a bunch towards me. As I said I'm learning I appreciate learning about the 18'1 spacing requirement.

I literally spent 20 minutes of my day watching them load the trailer from a company im trying to get some work out of. I buy all my own #### too ( like everyone else) and it costs to be CA /carb /dot / etc. compliant.

    Boys are sensitive around here...

    cke Thanks this.

Yeah some are sensitive around here. when that is exactly how I make my living ...
a little like if your general contractor used and equipment provider that didn’t workmen’s comp or liability insurance or taxes and then underbid jobs resulting in no local equipment to move around all day
