Delivered a concrete batch plant to Prince George, British Columbia from central Texas. Not heavy, but, 11-11 wide, 14-3 tall, 67ft trailer. Walk in the park. This was in McBride when the pilot I picked up at the AB/ BC border and I stopped for coffee.

Is that a tank on the neck right above the fifth wheel? What's that for?

Yes it's a fuel tank. It's very common here to have fuel on the trailer especially as this trailer started life over in Western Australia. When heavy haul is involved you are lucky if you are getting 1 mile to the gal. @Ozdriver may even have a belly tank under his lead trailer that he can transfer diesel to his truck. Their is limited fuel in inland Australia and the fuel that is there cost double.

    • Saw this brand new CAT 793 near Mount Newman WA a while back. It was being hauled from Perth to FMG's Solomon Mine, distance approx 1400 kms, police escort all the way. FMG bought a fleet of them for their iron ore mine.
    • As far as I know, this is the biggest truck you can haul in a few pieces by road, once you get to the CAT 797 they've got to be built up on site. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Spotted you again in Acheson on wed night.... Hope you found parking! Looked like you circled the husky a few times. It was time for bed at that point or I would have tried to find you to say hi. I'm sure the question has already been asked somewhere on this forum and you've answered it but what's the advantage to the tandem set up on the trailer vs a tridem? I see most 9's setup differently
