I also wanted to go with the smaller less expensive 255 tires. But, the 275’s last better with big wgt and are allowed more wgt in ga,al and fl

Yes I did go with the 255’s this time. I did it for height reduction and we can run them out on dump truck cheaters.

I had to buy a spare. Those 275’s are #### near impossible to find on the road at a truck stop

I'm 44k empty on 6. Only got 25' in the well is the thing.
The dimensions I was given it would just barely fit being backed on. Driven on it would need a lot of blocking to get the nose to clear the transition. According to the sales site it is something like 100,000# with a pair of 18,000# batteries installed. And nose heavy.
So my gut feeling is they are light on the weight to begin with. And a suspicion that they would need open deck under the nose to drop the battery packs. Then a guy is stuck with a dead machine you can't move. To close a margin for me personally. That and I was already in southern Utah going the wrong way when the phone rang...

Yes they are and the casing is worthless. Our tire guy told me a few lowboys and big RV’s are all that run them.

I understand- going to port heuneme with a chance of it not scaling would suck.

It was funny the 745s to ALBQ all went super fast and at a crappy rate. There had been a bunch of little machines out of Long Beach to Denver at a fair plus plus rate but the broker finally got them to move.

It has been pretty slow out of CA for a while...

And don’t mind me I have been running since I left home to make this Edmonton delivery. I am tired and a bit out of sorts .

Y’all run non steerable lifts? Are they pushing for change in law on that? They’ve done away with non steerable on all new stuff in NY, and all lifts must be steerable (truck or trailer) by 2021 (I might be off by a year?) from my recollection. CT lifts on new equipment must be steerable, old are exempt (I haven’t heard an update regarding phasing them out yet).
The state claims less impact on roadways with steerables vs non steerables.

I hate a steerable. Installed one on a truck once. Year later one of the stabilizer shocks broke. #### near steered me of the road ! Went straight home and replaced with a straight lift. Steerable is ok for regional dump truck running that do alot of turning, but not in my opinion for over the road.

I’ve ran this one for 4 years and not had a problem. I can see pros to a straight lift and I can see cons. I have had to put tie rods in, but that’s about it.

Feedman, SAR, cke and 3 others Thank this.
