I liked the way mine steered less stress on truck and less tire scuffing. But when one of the stabilizer go bad or break hang on, you will be in for a ride ! I ran 425 tires on mine and it automatically lifted when backing up.

Mine does too. I run 385’s. I had an air line break going to the bags. It dumped all the air. When I hit the brakes to pull over it locked em and cut sideways. So I know what you are referring too. Had to use the trailer brakes to slow it down to pull over.

I drove a 7 axle straight truck hauling concrete block years ago. 3 steerable pushers and a steerable tag on a straight arm 8+ feet out the back. That thing was fun on ice covered roads. When you took a corner or even changed lanes it wanted to keep right on turning.

A 275 is only 1inch higher than a 255. But sometimes an inch makes all the difference. I switched last year to 275. Some states give you more weight with the wider foot print of a 275. In your case it doesn't matter here in ohio. I also learned you need to check in between the tires for the larger rocks that get pinched between the 275 more often. But the lifespan of a 275 over a 255 is almost doubled and less cupping like you get from the 255. I'm lucky a buddy of mine here in town buys all my 275 take offs and runs them out on his trailers. I take mine off at around 4/32 tread depth.

Steerable is only required on lifts. If it’s always on the ground they don’t need to steer.

It is actually simpler to route on a 3+1 in certain states. You won't be limited on weight restrictions you get on a quad. Like ohio I can go 60000 on 3 and 25000 on the stinger. There is a stretch on 70 in ohio i cant run on a quad but can on a 3+1with more weight. Arkansas comes to mind on their 68000 lbs on a quad where I can go 60 and 20 on a 3+1. I do run a quad every now and then but not often.

Well that will work. I can hide the lift control and claim it doesn't then......unless they craw under. LOL

Mine is steerable, and the shocks went bad. Hit a bump on two lane one day and suddenly it started doing the watusi. It took me a moment to figure it out. Hit the switch on the dash and raised it up. I replaced the shocks the next day.
