Wow! How fast can you go with this kind of weight? What about hills?

Also is your compressor keeping up?

    Al. Roper Thanks this.

Speed on flat ground is between 50-60mph depending on wind conditions and permit speed limits. Hills up to 3-4% will pull me down to 2nd gear and 17mph. Higher grades I usually drop to 1st and 8mph max to give the torque converter a break.

Compressor does just as well as with a normal trailer.

    Allison 4700RDS
    7 forward and 2 reverse

Full power shifting and it never misses a gear.

Instead of a clutch it uses a torque converter just like a car/pickup would. 1st gear has to be manually locked in and it won't shift out of it. 2nd gear runs twice. First it leaves the torque converter unlocked and slips it while keeping to motor at 2000 RPM then it locks up and runs 2nd again from about 1400 up to 2000 and drops to 3rd. Does the same thing for 3rd. Once it shifts to 4th the torque converter stays locked for 4th-7th. 5th is my direct and 6/7 are both OD.

Rears are 4.10 running on 11r24.5s so I can still run decent highway speeds for legal weight stuff.

Motor is Cummins ISX15 600/1850. I tried to get the 2050 but Allison only rates the 4700RDS for 1850 max input.

After having this transmission I would never want to do big stuff like this with a manual.
