    Only thing bout my full fenders is DONT FORGET TO LIFT THE NECK RAM ! it will chew up a fender in seconds ! I also slide my fithwheel back when empty so the neck doesn't dig into fenders when turning in a humped driveway.

    Keeping weight on the drives when he's running light on the jeep neck.

    It would be very difficult for me to load up the tractor to it's ratings with a 3 axle jeep and how long the neck ends up being. I usually end up with something like 58K on the jeep, 35K on the drives and 15k on steers.

    If he were to slide way up to get that 20K on the steers he would end up really light on the drives. While it would be legal he would run into traction issues on soft ground and it rides like garbage.

    When I'm empty and stacked I sometimes have to slide way under the neck to get my overall length below the limit for pilot cars in some states. I end up with about 18K on the steers and 28K on the back and it gets really bouncy.

    Also keep in mind he is 30K+ under his capacity in most places so he doesn't really need to move the weight all the way up there.

    It is almost 16k on the steer and I am 15k empty. It also gives me the little bit of fudge room I need. When I was a 10 axle(prior to adding the Jeep axle) I was usually around 18k when loaded close to 190k gross.

    I have room to slide forward if necessary.

    I can move weight around between the Jeep drives and steer if I have to make weight for AZ or a 20 k state

    @Oscar the KW

    This load was about 205K gross but because of load placement I have both fifth wheel and King pins run as far back as I can to try transferring weight forward. I do seem to have a shorter jeep neck than Ron though.

    The tractor fifth wheel is about 6" ahead of center on the drives here.

    It is your big being longer than mine and I have a flip neck on my Jeep to make it longer to get the group to group spacing.

    On the above load I had to lift the Jeep axle to use 9axle purple tables in California to get a usable route to Oregon (10 axles count as 9 axles in Cali but 11 axles use the 11 axle tables with their restrictions).

    So while I am not usually super heavy up front I can load it if necessary but probably not quite to 20k unless I am on 10

    I can get close to 20 up front with my short neck and removing the 3rd axle on the jeep.

    These chassis sit so far back that I always max out the back 5 first. I really wish this trailer had 6 in back. Might look into that some day.

    Moving the kingpin backwards moves weight forward? I thought moving the kingpin was a length thing

    Shortening the wheelbase on the trailer and not moving the load will move weight forward. The math changes and for every inch the pin moves back the load balance moves forward about 1/2 inch so if the pin moves 18 inches it is the same as moving the load forward 9 inches.this can move 2000 to 3000 lbs forward on a 50000lb load and it gets even more on a 130,000 lb load(maybe as much as 8000lbs.

    Changing the king pin position on the neck to a deeper setting will result in more weight at that setting versus the forward setting. This is not to be confused with the fifth wheel position.
