Opening myself up to criticism. This is the biggest load i've ever had on my truck / trailer.

    1. Whats the easiest way to load these articulated dumps?

    2. In my mind it is secured and flagged to perfection. How could I have improved?

    3. Is there any laws I can find anywhere concerning outriggers? I have them on this trailers and they really would have made this load SEEM a lot more stable.

If you have enough deck I would have loaded it nose first, and you wouldn't have had to back up on the bolsters. Weight-wise it comes out pretty close either way, but maybe it is too long.

Not right or wrong, especially if you have the articulation joint locked, but I chain on both sides of articulation joint in the middle. I would prefer a bit more angle on the chains pulling toward the rear of the trailer also (more pull to the rear).

Not trying to pick you apart, just sharing my preferences.

You did a good job getting it on there. It can be a pia when you can't see the trailer.

Also, I might have used the outriggers if much more than half the width of your front tires overhangs the edge of the trailer. Empty the rears are pretty light, but the front is heavy.

Much appreciated. Only reason we didn't load it nose first is height. Theres a hell of a slope on the actual dump bed, seemed like 18" or so I don't remember. Loading it forward put us in th 14'6" range where backing in in the 13'6 range (Permitted for up to 14' by blanket permit). @Oxbow

Getting these things perfectly centered is tough especially backing on over the front. I had the luxury of driving on over the rear. You almost need a experienced hand to guide you on. If you don't use outriggers, ya gotta be straight, maybe an inch or two to the left.. As long as you are pretty straight and centered, the tire "sloop?" over the frame will keep it where its at. But you don't want to go 2K miles with it leaning to the right , hence my reference to keeping it a little to the high side of the road. Looks like you got it on though.

Do you mean putting the front tires up on the bolster in back? If so, that's not what I was suggesting, only nose to the rear if all the tires can stay on the deck. It looks like your deck might be a bit short to do that on this one.

Nose first, tires should all fit in the well. Unless you have a short well.

Todays attempt by "them" to wear out the old truckdriver. This and a couple more moves and I had to come home and drink a couple beers to get rested...….
