Big Loads - Post Photos Number 2

That’s a chunky one! It’s nice to see a manufacturer actually put securement points on a piece of machinery. The debarker I posted earlier had 4 d rings that only were for transportation securement.

 

We load here quite a bit. Most of their stuff is a PITA to tarp. But they supply plenty of securing points.

 

I guess they decided that dedicated tiedown points was cheaper than a can of touchup paint and the odd replacement guard replacement they needed to ship by overnight or airfreight.

Good god man , some of u guys have some of the most bad ### tarp jobs on some of the ugliest looking machinery. Very well done! I could only imagine how many cuss words id invent tarping something like that

 

These are big containers. They use Big containers and BIG containers. 16’ tall and normal width all the way to 16’ tall and 22’ wide.

 

Haha. I can't take all the credit. It's hard to see in the picture but they build a wooden frame around the top of the machine to hold my tarp up. I kind of wish I grabbed the box tarp. But I almost think that is on an armature going to Laredo.

 

Yeah those would never work down here on the East coast. They'd be tearing up all kinds of crap.

 

They come into port and get loaded onto a barge and floated a few miles to a special rail dock. Then shoved uphill to the rail car yard at the factory. What Boeing wants, Boeing gets.

 

I don't think they'd work in Feather River Canyon either. Too many tunnels and bridges with fixed sides.
I wonder about Donner too. I don't know how much room the snow sheds have and there's the tunnel thing again.
