14’6” wide 50k pound building. Wisconsin to Long Island, New York. 96k gross. It was a trip coming through NYC at midnight. The other two trucks were only 12’ 6” wide and around 80k gross. Edit to add: not sure what was crazier, going through NYC with 6 escorts, or through Chicago at 4pm with zero escorts. Took around 5 hours to go 130 miles. 13AB6DA1-D569-4ABD-B109-1423DCC6D5C2.jpeg 3BCDF075-BBD8-4137-A75A-1A4A7F1820A3.jpeg D60472A9-7E07-4FD4-B51D-3C5C453A90C3.jpeg 838804F4-6BBA-4008-8D4C-7292C5D7E004.jpeg

there were a few spots I had less then two inches on either side. I love these technical moves, but it took 5 days to go less then 1400 miles. With our pay structure, that kinda kills the chance of getting a nice monthly bonus.

Sometimes the bonus structure works against you. Yeah the technical moves eat up some time. But the challenge of them makes it a nice switch up.

Because I just don't know, how do you scale 96k on 5 axles?

I’m his case you go 18k on the steer and 40k on the tandems or

Some states allow permitting to 46k (or more) on a tandem

    you go 12 42 42

just depends on the 5 axle set up and the states axle/group limits

Very carefully. Here’s my actual scale ticket. Ignore the fact that I can’t ever remember how to do a split weigh right. This wouldn’t have been legal everywhere but in the north east they tend to give higher tandem weight limits.

my goal was to stay under 45k on the drives and 40k on the trailer. Those are my approximate tire weight limits.
