Sounds like the weyhauser? Or the canfor, or the willow? Those are the type of roads I miss hauling on. Everyone's courteous, people pull over if there heavy and let you by, and no ones bad mouthing on the radio because they know the road police are listening.

There's a certain company down on the coast that bought a 13 axle with no clue on how to run it or even load it. All they normally do is lumber. So far they've hit an overpass with a load, didnt tell the customer and tried delivering it to site. They had to haul the peice back down to the coast on there dime. At one point the cvse was looking for them because they would never adhere to there permit conditions and they knew it was a sure ticket everytime they inspected them. Those are the company's that should imo be restricted on what they haul.

Every time I'm in Georgia, I see an oversized running after sundown. No exaggeration. Sun went down 25 minutes ago and you see them pulling into the parking lots. Or you see them running on Sunday on the east coast. Or running through a metro curfew. Or running without pilot cars. Anything to save a buck.

Years ago, I pulled a tall load out of Orlando,FL. was running across hwy 50 to Wildwood. Got a blue light special. Diesel bear walks up wanting to see my permit. He checks my permits and says to me, "You wouldn't believe the number of drivers that come up this road with their big fancy trucks and big loads and no permits." I always tell drivers that most of the scalemasters don't know the rules, most of the HP don't know the rules, but there are a couple in every state that do. If they know the rules, they can spot a bootleg OSOW 2 miles away. The fines are Huuuuuuuge!!!!!! 3-5x the gross of what the load pays. The guys I know that got busted also got arrested, had to post bond and show up in court.

You guys are awesome. Every one of us have problems with loads. Every one of us have issues with permits, curfews, routes, the loads from Hell...etc.

But to continually hammer out those loads, to get in and out, pick up and deliver big loads, you have to be a solid driver. Most of these guys that are interested in heavyhaul will bellyache about flatbed work. If they're crying about flatbedding, how on earth do they expect to heavyhaul?

You see these people complain about tarping? I bet every one of us has been to a shipper, get assigned assistants from the shipper, got lifted on top of a load with half a dozen tarps by a forklift, because the load is too tall for a ladder, and even with 2-3 guys and a forklift, it still takes a days tarp the load.

If you make more on tarp pay, than the average owner operator makes in a week running miles, you might be a heavyhauler.
If the local news comes out to film you rolling through town, you might be a heavyhauler.
If a shipper had to tear down a wall or take down a fence for you to get in and out, you might be a heavyhauler.
If your rig is 2 parking spots wide and 2 parking spots long, you might be a heavyhauler.
If you have a worn out DOT regs book, you might be a heavyhauler.
If the inside of your truck looks like you robbed OfficeMax, you might be a heavyhauler.
If a trucker and a ScaleMaster ask you on the same day, "What the hell is that thing you're carrying?", you may be a heavyhauler.

You got it on the roads...
I havent heard about this new 13axle wonder co, but i coukd guess a few names. And I agree 100%, I don't know why CVSE doesn't just say "Nope. No more permit privileges. You don't abide by the rules so you don't get to play. BTW, you might as well sell your big toy, we've told Registries and your plates have been cancelled."

The reason I'm looking at a new wagon; the quarry with the rocks requires the truck & driver come to their place first for inspection; their safety sticker on the truck, securement test for driver (hint- you'd better not just pitch 1/2" over to the other side), capacity for configuration. Then they OK and tell you what they will load you with + pass that on to the Prime Contractor. "But I want to get the big money and glory for the big ones!" = get more axles. You had better have everything right & tight and be a professional. It pays well and no chowder-heads to deal with.

    I'd love to hear the conversation with "XYZ logistics";
XYZ- "Hi, this is XYZ logistics, I have trucks in your area every day!"
Quarry- "Great, here is what you need to do to have "your trucks" haul for us...."
    XYZ- "Uhhhhhhhh........"

The most impressive part is the speed that he was backing. I would have that booster so jacked up trying to do that. Ours have a pin to lock them straight but you don't dare do it with a load. It's like a 2" pin and others have sheared them off trying it.

In racing, which would you prefer...to set the lap record, or run consistent fast laps? A lap record will get you pole position. Consistency will get you the championship.

Definitely a difficult back. Lots of finesse behind the wheel.
