I wouldn’t worry too much about being over the deck rating with a load like that….it’s pretty spread out and near the ends at that.

I take it you're being facetious, since I knew several Swift flatbedders who went to ATS years ago, but I'm not aware that Swift actually did any acquisition of ATS, so you must be being facetious. :)

It was hotter than fire when I loaded Friday. Then when we pulled out Saturday morning to head north I don’t think I let the speedometer get over 55 all day. Not like Texas let us on any interstate highways. 81F1443B-CCCF-458C-A982-1D08E5F046A5.jpeg

Yeah that's what I kind of figured out. Since we put the 4 axel in front of it and were able to push it's limit.

The few loads that have got the deck to arch down were all tracked, the worst was only shy of 70k. Meanwhile this a touch over 80k handled it relatively well, at least didn't bow this time. Concentration is definitely a big thing. Which I've always kind of known, but seeing it first hand, really helps get the full picture.

May want to scale it again. The only 745 I’ve had over 80 was a water truck and it was only 81’ish. A 740 or 745 should be less than 75. Unless it’s got 5 ton of dirt in the bed. I guess I’ve had that happen a couple times.

I don't haul 745s because it is a real chore with our short deck, so when we rent them we hire them hauled. The guys that haul for our Cat dealer say that the 745s are a little lighter than 740s.

They are I think a 745 is about 73 and a 740 is about 77. I get them on a 26’ well but it’s full and I fight to keep the rear below 60. I have to run it in the back KP setting and push it all the way to the neck.

I hauled 740s from one job. We have to back them clear up on the bolsters, then block the steer so the nose will clear the neck, and drive up on the blocks leaving one rear axle on the bolsters. It's just not worth it.
