How much control ( if any ) does the driver have on that unit he's pulling when making a turn? I'm assuming someone else is controlling that by remote? Maybe I'm completely wrong... I was busy so couldn't sit and watch the operation...
And no, he isn't stuck or anything... They backed him down a hill to get turned around. Everything is good.
FerrissWheel, W923, Landincoldfire and 10 others Thank this. -
I would say it depends on how it's setup. But the driver always has a bit of control on how it navigates. Typically it takes a team when turns come into play and that's when remote steering is needed. Some trallers require the deck to stay level for stability. So then again the ground team keeps primary control.FerrissWheel, CAXPT, JonJon78 and 5 others Thank this.

Backing up there is a man steering the trailer and the driver follows keeping the drawbar as straight as possible.
Going ahead they set the trailer in drawbar and the trailer steers according to input from the drawbar.
In a difficult turn it can be manually steered if needed.
That looks like half of a girder bridge setup , other half is probably waiting on them around that turn.FerrissWheel, CAXPT, JonJon78 and 5 others Thank this. -
Finally did a thing, and yes I forgot to put the outriggers down in that photo. All though that one on that corner can't go down cause it'll hit my trailer tire ... And after the circus I went through to load it completely unassisted. .. the possibility of unchaining it backing it up and then being able to deploy all four outriggers is a tomorrow problem maybe a next Tuesday problem.
Anyway first load on what is supposed to be my trailer that I have technically had for about 3 months although I haven't put one thing on it. This is the rebuild and admittedly there's a lot I like about it. Aside from the bouncing crane on the back. 25'6" main deck. Got spoiled on those 33'
