why does there appear to be a bunch of duck tape and zip ties around the stick cylinder rod…. I have seen several like that lately

 

I don’t know on that particular one. Some manufacturers wrap the rods. I don’t know why, they shouldn’t rust. But some do. Maybe it’s a way to measure travel. Like the off road rock crawlers use on shocks. Doubt it, but who knows

 

My understanding is for salty sea air and road spray protection / small rock dings before they can sell it and it’s not their problem.

 

With the pins in the link it doesn’t fit down in my beaver tail. So we’re taking them out and putting them elsewhere.

if no forklift around it’s a nice way to blow your shoulder or back apart.
