Ahhh..you are correct….about the onion chucking.

cke, CAXPT, Feedman and 1 other person Thank this. -
Too bad it wasn’t a rock the size of that onion. Him trashing up a parking lot like he was.
-
I agree with him on combines. But RT cranes are gravy
-
to each their own - they were ok but the rocking and leaning hauling on a flat deck always made me seasick. Tracked cranes or cranes house are gravy.
I hauled what paid the bills but get to choose what I like and don’t.
dozers, wheel loader, hoes and deck wreckers were just as easy. I, however, preferred the crane loads like presses or pumps or vessels… -
I despise any load where I have to wait on a rigging crew. Probably more than combines. Well, that may be an exaggeration, but I’d have to ponder on it.
-
combines suck worse than waiting - good news is they move for about $3/mile now - so really no one should be able to afford hauling one.
I am older - so the wait is welcome sometimes. Although today waiting 7 hours to unload sucked a bunch.Old_n_gray, beastr123, CAXPT and 5 others Thank this. -
Only real problem with rigging crews are that I think they have been conditioned to crap drivers. I think they tell you a time about two hours ahead of when they really want you. I think they expect the truck to be late.
I’m kinda ocd about time. If I tell you I’ll be there at 8 am most likely I will be there by 7:30. So don’t tell me 8 and then come rolling in at 9 knowing full well it’ll take an hour to set up. It pisses me off to have my time wasted.Old_n_gray, CAXPT, sawmill and 6 others Thank this. -
I get that and I am never late.
For most of the last 5 years or so I have been moving crane on/off loads. I have grown used to all the crap that goes with it - from being the wrong rigging to the wrong counterweights. Usually I can shake it off but sometimes….
I was never totally comfortable running the equipment - I got it done but never felt totally safe. Hauling not, no issues even scrapers but loading it or unloading it - never awesome.
I like to be comfortable and sometimes growing as a heavy hauler requires getting out of comfort into some scary and sketchy areas.
we all find the things we can put up with and even thrive on…
and we can’t we should be doing something else.
