We run Rugged Radios both for VHF usage on moves and also in our racing world. They are amazing to deal with and offer just about any configuration you could imagine whether its truck mounted or hand held portables for steerman and spotters. They also have digital VHF and UHF capabilities depending on your needs. In relatively open areas we have typically saw ranges of 4-5 miles and even in the most dense populated or mountainous areas I don't know if we've ever saw our ability to talk drop short of a mile / mile and half.

Not sure why I didn't think of this. I've been looking at them for my offroad radio needs but would also be the easiest way to get up and running in the truck.

    Feedman and Oxbow Thank this.

Always. Or a 3’x12”x12” block. Chained in place.

I do on ours. If you are patient and have the stick slightly higher than necessary it will eventually seep to line up the pin.

I also did a big one this week. Good thing they flipped the sign down in Pleasant Prairie on my way back north right as I went under Russell Road.
