I might rewire my coffin mic, Thats in my avatar image with a steel cord. Thats another $59.99 USD so yeah, More money holy cow.
The Astatic 636 has been around for a long time and has always worked well with most radios, especially the 29's. It is a noise canceling mic and produces clear and loud audio. You can buy them in most truck stops.
The DP 56 is another mic that I have that works really well on the 29. It is a noise canceling mic and similar to the RK56 and the Workman 56 that the original thread post recomended. If you can find the Workman 56 or the DP 56 ( some cb shops sell them) they sell for about 30 to 40 bucks, and work just as well as the RK 56.
Since Mike Houston doesn't have a clue what he's talking about and he's simply trying to regurgitate what he copied from Mark Sherman I figured I would share this video from Mike bielecki who actually does know what he's doing to a point.
I saw basically the same thing in that video, an over modulated tx circuit on an oscilloscope by having a wide open pot or the circuit clipped,,,,, unless I am issuing something?
I peaked and aligned my DX 959B according to the factory alignment chart. Checked all voltage adjustments. driver and final bias 4.20v. dead key 4 watts. Peaked the transmit amp stages with 1000hz tone. finally set modulation to 100%, watching scope for flat topping then back down to perfect sine wave using 1000 hz tone. dead key 4 watts, 27w swing on PEP and radio sounds like a base station and smooth crystal clear booming audio. No stupid mods or coil stretching required.
It's probably pretty much the same information except it's coming from an honest and reputable source as opposed to someone who memorized a bunch of words and phrases.
I would love to get mine done like that Delta5. But after watching all these YouTube videos on all of these con artists I’m scared to death to send my radio to anybody, and who can I trust to do it like that
