Ugh! Hard to believe this guy is acting so put out that we are actually smart enough to not work for him! Geez!

I totally respect that. Owning a truck is a big headache.

The point being is if this guy is wondering Why he can’t get drivers to work on 1099 for him then what else is he holding back on? At least half of these outfits are still running paper logs.

Thanks. That's what I think too.o_OObviously I would be making more money but freedom like everything else has its price which at this point of my life I am willing to pay.
I been thinking about going on my own but being rather cautious person I would like to first get to know the other side (load booking, necessary paperwork etc) of this business at someone's else expense.

I'm in Detroit, I know his kind, unfortunately. The only good thing, I get head of the line, Born in the USA privilege. Shippers and consignees hate these guys. Track suits and wrestling shoes, UHG! ;-)

    I got your freedom...

    Truck2.jpg

Welcome to ownership... The truck is paid for, a new truck you would have a warranty and a $4000 a month truck payment. That is if you went new. Lost my air compressor, 3 shops were a week or more, one 3 weeks out, 2 said they did not have a mechanic that they would trust to do what I am doing. All were Cummins certified shops.

    And I get a 1099. ;-)

I don't think you understand what I wrote.I value freedom more than owning a truck.I could buy a truck (even brand new:)) tomorrow without having to borrow money:) but I don't want it.

When I look out my window I see sunshine and blue sky.
    Desert!
    Mountains!
Every 20 miles there is a truck stop with 200 parking spaces.
Nobody throws their trash on the ground.
No bums begging for change when I fuel.
    Any more questions?

Wow!! You know his "kind"??? Shippers and consignees hate "these guys"??? Are you gonna hit on African-Americans too? Maybe Asians?? I'm Eastern European myself, you cannot generalize "kinds" of people like that!? Don't forget that your father/grandfather or great grandfather was also some "kind", coming from somewhere.
