I have an app in with Big Star Crude in Dilley, TX. Anyone here drive for them?
What's the average pay and schedule like?
Are the trucks in decent shape? 10 speed? autoshift?
I think finding affordable housing might be my biggest challenge down there. Any leads?

Thanks, I just put in an app with OTS too. A little worried about them though. I've heard Chesapeake has been laying off staff the past few months, I don't know if that includes drivers or even affects their pay. -
thats what i heard too but idk, i see them on the road on a daily basis and several of them...

look into louisiana liquid services, its part of louisiana crane llc...supposedly they pay 21.50 hr with a per diem

I worked there for almost a yr. They are 49% owned by OTS - Chesapeake Energy. So they pull only Chesapeake Wells.
4/2 schedule
.25cent/bbl and $1/loaded mile. (Although that changed after I left.) Dropping off a preload was $50.
$30days or $60nights bonus just to show up.
$500/mo safety bonus
KW T600 Automatics with peoplenet. (Although we used paperlogs.)
Medical ins was $520/mo for family & started after 30 days.
They do have spots to rent for RV.
They are a good company to work for if you don't expect much benefit wise. Easy loads and good runs. $350-450/day is what we made.
Cons: Lots of politics. All management at the time was from Alan Ritchey. So they stuck together and protected their own. Issued you your own tools, thus it was you responsibility to take them to and from work everyday(thief, test tubes, guage fittings, hydrometers, everything. Really sucked when your last load was High H2S and low gravity. You would have to drive with windows down all the way home.
OTS has great benefits but we made way more money. Generally 1700-2200(net) take home/wk. -
According to them as of Friday, they are not hiring.

My friend just took a job with Big Star supposedly paying $21/hr and overtime.
