Biggest Challenges of being a truck driver

Trucking was an adventure for me , especially the first few years when I was running all over the country and my wife was riding with me. Now I run regional and the wife doesn't ride anymore so it can get lonely and I'm always wanting to get back home. Poor me!

Lack of realistic thinking among management.
Unrealistic demands on drivers.
Constant trailer equipment problems being passed on from driver to driver which ends up costing you miles and days travelled because no one wants to sit at a loves waiting for a fix.

Lack of showers
Sleep issues
Weight gain
Parking next to a Effin reefer all night

###() shippers and receivers who will dock you to the next appt on a 24 hr window (if you're late) so you're stuck in a fricking parking lot for a whole day.Incompetent payroll departments that loathe when you call.

Being shorted on miles (SWIFT)

Nazi like yards that keep you hostage and you need 'permission' to leave ( again, Swift)

Impersonal identifiers, driver number 11111

The potential loss of life
Potential liability to your net worth as a result of a accident.
Over zealous and corrupt dot
Nazi like dot officers in Ohio that will write you up for a nail in a tire

9 out of 10 of your issues wouldn't be issues if you didn't drive for a mega.

The two main stresses in my life OTR are border crossings and finding a place to park for the night. I tend to start early and finish early to make the nights parking spot easier to obtain however that is not always possible. As for border crossing it can take minutes or hours.
