My first time out by myself was nerve wrecking, I stayed local and after school it took me one month to get a job. But the job had me training in a box truck, so when I finished two weeks of training I was put in a tractor to drive up to pa for a truck load delivery to cns. I think to this day my first time I hit a pole with my trailer. I never got use to double clutching so I taught myself to float gears.

The answer to your question is Paul Simon or Simon & Garfunkel.

If someone tells me I owe them 1000 bucks for a dog that I ran over because they let run loose, I'd respond the same way.

Of course I'd feel bad about hitting the dog as I'm a dog owner and lover but something like that is ridiculous.

I'll add, pulling into a new place comes with anxieties...I'm only on my 3rd and not knowing where to go or if how I pull in will make it tougher on myself is a little stressful...I just pulled into a beverage distributor and it's one of the easier ones as you pull forward in a lot that makes for a straight back(or slight offset at worst) with doors open waiting your turn...Suppose to be loading 45,000lbs of beverages so this will be a heavy load from MI to TN...

Just finding new places is also stressful, yesterday after receiving bad directions from a local, I had to drive 13 miles before I could find a place to turn around...From now on I'm going very slow when close to destination, people will have patience or lots of horn time, I don't care, their choice...

We all have our own fears and "pucker factors." Just remember, a little fear is not a bad thing...in fact, it might just keep you safe. Had a super trucker ask on the CB as he flew past me going down a mountain in the snow..."What's the matter? Ya scared?" My reply..."If being safe means being scared, I guess I'm terrified!"

Man I hear that,I had a live delivery at a Lowes in South San Francisco the other day. (San Bruno)
Never been there before and dealing with heavy impatient traffic,it wasn't fun.
So I get there 2 hrs early and there's no place to park at all,to make matters worse the dock has to be backed into off the street in a serpentine blindside fashion and it will be dark by my appointment time.
I found a place to park behind a Safeway store a block away and waited then made my move when the time came, what a PITA!
In order to get backed in I had to block the whole street holding up traffic,it took me a couple tries and GOAL trips to the back of the trailer just to get off the street lol.
