By law you should have a set made up. Even a generic bill you filled out, just in case. Me sometimes I did'nt make out a bill untill I got to the customer and then had them sign it for proof of del.

If stopped for an inspection you can always just say it's a electronic BOL, they will ask what city to what city and that's it, BTDT

I was stopped at a weigh station in Utah and asked for IFTA, BOL, and permits. I didn't have BOL, it was a rental return of an oil field pipe bender and the guys at the pipe line site loaded the equipment and jumped in their truck and never came back lol. Trooper said it's illegal to run with out a BOL and I need to go buy some at the truck stop and make my own BOL.
So like, ya, and stuff. -
Nothing says you as the trucker can't create your own bill of lading.
So far, I've never had to do it. My friend drives for landstar and said he's had to do it a few times for some of the smaller shippers. How else will the receiver has something to sign for proof of delivery?Bigdubber Thanks this.
