I was watching an old episode of BJ Mckay and the Bear on youtube yesterday. He told someone he hauled anything as long as it wasn't illegal for $1.50 a mile. This was sometime between 1978 and 1981. Today, there are still owner ops taking less than that with much higher costs. My hat is off to him for saying "no to cheap freight." I guess the show got cancelled because Swift came in and undercut his haul, and they couldn't afford to produce the show anymore.
BJ Mckay is not part of the problem

No Tarps, you cracked me up on that one. Bear must have gone to one of them 3 week schools if he can back up that well.

Logan76 Thanks this. -
Seems some guys think they hit the lottery if they can find a load for $1.50. I just feel insulted.
