Air tanks for the brakes and suspension
-
Some trucks have the air tanks mounted side to side under or near the driver's side front. You can bleed the tank without an extension cable or by crawling under the truck to turn a valve. You have an acces problem when the cable breaks.
I've noticed lots of Macks set up this way but no Freightliners.
It could also be something entirely unrelated, but any APU I have seen draws diesel from the main tanks. -
Some volvos are that way as well. But most have the skirts on them.
