Verizon lets you tether now. It's included in the package. But from my understanding its inlay the newer phones if tethering is native to the phone.
I understand the companies with unlimited not wanting you to tether. You probably lost the tether from the rooting when you upgraded to jellybean. Someone will come out with a new root.

I have an MBR95 Cradlepoint router which picks up the wi-fi hotspot off of my Android phone (Wifi as WAN). I have the router connected to my XBOX with an ethernet cable. It works really well and gives me open NAT. I'm on Verizon and the explosion of 4g has been a real plus though I play on 3g as well. I have different strategies depending on how good my connection is.
There's nothing like being stuck at shipper/receiver and have 3-4 hours go by like it was nothing. Time flies when you're playing this in multi-player mode. My favorite primary, so far, is the FAL OSW with an ACOG scope, silencer, and extended mag. But I'm looking forward to getting some of the others unlocked.
As far as a review, the game has lived up to my expectations and beyond. I was worried it would go too futuristic but it has struck the right balance with some futuristic weapons, and terrain, but same war skills and strategies needed to succeed. I never saw the Nuketown 2025 map after downloading it. I guess you have to get the elite package to play it after the initial roll-out. -
My first experience with zombie grief mode with randoms was last night. Interesting to say the least. My and my usual 2 partners with one random on our team vs the other 4. Well the other either didn't understand the concept or are horrible at team work. They started out trying to knife use causing a dazed state when Yiyr hut for about half a second. If adobe at the right time it can be an instant death as zombies could get their hits in fast. Well we backed off and let them get the bulk of the kills. We opened the bar and let them rape the box. Causing the box to transport to the fenced in corner. They immediately rushed there. My partner git a piece of zombie meat and tosses it in. All the zombies attacked them in that closed off corner killing all 4 of them. We waited in the zombies at the top of the bar and killed them all winning the match.
Next match we faced another team as the first team rage quit. This team was better. But still nit good enough. One went down in the bar and we blocked the stairs where his team mates could nit get up to revive him. He died. One of the guts on the stairs went down from the zombies behind them. That took care of two. We ditched the area and trapped one by the pack a punch he died in the fire. We ran a horde of zombies up to the area juggernaut is in and trapped the last player up there losing me and our random forth in the process. My partners lead the zombies out and came pack to revive us. We won the second match by round 12 .
It was interesting. I was tethered thru my phone. Never lagged once.

I haven't played much zombie modes, hardly at all. I've pretty much stuck with human warfare. I didn't even know there were zombie multiplayer maps.
So I went on there last night and that is some bizarre stuff. I went into the Tranzit map with 3 other random players.
I was left for dead on the street getting eaten alive while the others escaped on a bus with zombies hanging off of it.
And I did find the Nuketown map in Core Chaos. -
Personally I am disappointed in the CoD franchise. It's just the same game every year with a twist here or there. But nothing really changes.
There's not really been a great multiplayer shooter since Rainbow Six Vegas.
I've been on the Xbox Live since before it was launched. I was part of the Beta for it. Like ten years now? Can't remember. But the past few years the quality of MP first person shooters have went down hill.
I like Black Ops II but it's far from a great game. After all of these years of making games, you would think they could figure out a spawn system. This is probably the worst game ever where spawning is concerned. Can't count the times I've spawned amongst enemy players. Or right in front of an opposing player. It's retarded. IMO, if they are going to have such a random, goofy spawn system, then there should be an invulnerability timer. Too many gamers think it is skill to figure out where spawn spots are and camp them.
I would probably give it a 6.5 rating. I've only got about half way on the campaign. To me, CoD 2 or MW had the best campaigns in this franchise.
I was glad to see them actually add Kill Confirmed to the Hardcore playlist this morning. About time. lolDrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
It is all still fairly new to me. I bought an XBOX 360 for the truck about 3 years ago and before that hadn't played video games since Atari. I played offline mostly for about a year then just got online in the truck a couple of years ago. The Call of Duty series is the only game I play. lol. But I'm considering getting LA Noir for something different.
But I must say, even after two years, I'm really amazed at the multiplayer, weapons, graphics and everything. But I'm just an old guy now. That's probably how COD continues to do so well. Their advertising seems to be focusing a lot on young to middle age guys. -
Personally, Black Ops II is by far the best game I've ever played. I have had no problems with spawning. With MW3, I did. Even on "Highjacked" . I've had some close calls. But I also ready myself before I spawn.. As soon as I spawn, I usually "hit the dirt". Take a few seconds to look at where you're at, where the enemy maybe etc etc, will go a long way towards keeping the KDR up.
CommDriver Thanks this. -
i beat the campaign the other day ti was too easy

I made a short video of how I have it setup in the truck. I mention how much the sound is part of my enjoyment of the game. At home, I have two large speakers and sound system for even better audio. But as shown here, I have an amp and two bookend speakers which are pretty good. It is like being immersed in the game with loud bass explosions and gunfire sounding very real. It really adds another dimension when you take the sound to this level.
