The difference between 3G and 4G is simply speed; how much data you can push through the hose in a given amount of time.
Games don't use a whole lot of bulk data; in fact, surprisingly little is transferred. The problem is that it needs to be transferred NOW. When you hit the Shoot button, you want that keystroke to get to the server before the Bad Guy<TM> eats your face.
That transit time is called latency, sometimes referred to as "ping time". Lower is better.

AN-94 with Target finder, Full Metal Jacket and extended clip..
This map seems like a good sniper map. And it does have a couple of decent sniping spots. But, I've never been able to get more than 1 "blood thirsty" out of it. If you can get everyone else to snipe, it would be an awesome sniper map. LOL, But that's not going to happen in any map.

Now if your k/d is the all important goal and your a rush player you better be ready to either change your play style or your ratio to drop slightly. Again I don't have a problem on the road but I'm not living my life for k/d only fun online with friends from around the country.

This one is of my son and his "SWARM" on Carrier. When the swarm came, all of us on his team got inside, to that the enemy would have to spawn outside on the carrier deck and face the wrath....
AWESOME MATCH. Check it out. I put a little extra time & effort on this one for him.

I am running a BenQ monitor which was the top dog in Refresh rate years ago. With this monitor running refresh of 120 hertz (119.7 but whos counting..) in a shooter online game, if my opponet is running a standard 3D gaming card and monitor at 60 hertz or even 30 hertz refresh, he is a dead man walking. I would see him taking 5 steps and kill him down the hall.
He would see me take two steps and dead. By the time his computer redraws the situation in real time on the screen, the server has already taking my shooting against him and awarded me the kill. Its a matter then of updating that death to the other player.
We have players running 144 hertz and faster monitors now and if they have enough detail (4K etc) and the hardware to do it I am the dead man running. Just have not gotten the update from the server with the death scene and respawn.
Another version of hardware being used in competition gaming is to run a stack of SSD's preferably in Raid zero. Loads into enough memory that it has no end. (I run 64 gig of RAM in DDR 3 with trident Gskills which is rather slow, I can upgrade to 128 g of ram running in DDR 4 which is faster) The game size averages 25 to 32 gigs now. So getting it all into Ram is no problem. Running a page file off a thumbstick USB is another secret to take the load off the hard drives.
With my stack of 6 vertex 3's in SSD raid 5, I can load any shooter game and be first moving in the game world to capture the first base in conquest situation before any of the enemy team has finished loading and moving on their side of the map using spinning harddrives.
The next motherboard will have 10 of the SSD's in raid 5, this will increase the average ATTO read and write to speeds that are fast enough to keep up with the newest games.
Just one thing. Developers are aware of this and implement a 30 second timer before game start in multiplayer so no one moves until all are loaded. Even then in some games like WoWs some ships stay put because they are still loading from harddrive into the game world.
To others I learned of a new development in the COD MW Beta which I ran this weekend on my machine and it did ok. as expected. I was given a link to the following. I am a PC player. However this game allows TV arcade gamers to join into the same server now across the internet which is interesting. However. One gamer has managed to essentially score a victory in the game world server by speaking the words "XBox turn off" several times into the voice comms. ALL of the Xbox computers tied into voice comms heard that command and turned off mid game throwing dozens of players OUT of the server. Since there was 32 vs 32 it can win a game by switching off the opposing team. Its a older hack. But one our developers failed to remember when controlling games for retail release in 2019.
One must consider what it will take to say Robot truck off and turn off a robot truck at 70 mph on the highway prior to a curve with a cliff?
