They all tell me I need to start with my cdl class a. My question is I am was born blind in my left eye. My cdl would be needed cause of vehicle weight. No interstate travel I would only be in the truck daily. I’m in Florida. Thanks in advance if anyone has any info that could help me.

Pretty sure you need a minimum eyesight in both eyes.
Both eyes are tested separately.CrappieJunkie Thanks this. -
A couple of drivers posted on here with the same problem and received waivers. One said he has been driving for years.

You are allowed to be blind in one eye for cars and such. But for trucking you need two eyes unless you are given a waiver by FMCSA -

Check Florida law.. if the state does waivers you can get a CDL with it. SOME states do not do ANY waivers. CDLs for some states for INTRAstate driving are less stringent that the Feds.
