    Doublew,

You can just plug the EGR but it won't help the fuel econ very much, unless you program the ECM for Econ that will change the injection timing.

This will improve the Econ and the power at the same time. Take it to Montréal and they will take care of it.

Yes it's cheaper, but it only tunes the fuel injectors only, dose not turn off EGR, and other things.

I have a 07 VED-12 and I took a medal pipe plug I think it was a 3/4 or 1" metal plug got some high temp silicone call both sides and stuffed it in the rubber tube. My tube was tapered and it did the job truck runs a little better put still is low on power

I have an '07 D16 and I was wondering if anyone has bad issues with the silicone hose burting after putting a plug in there? I have heard at a guy that drilled a very small hole in the plug first to prevent over pressuring the hose causing it to burst??? Any thaughts??

I recently had a plug machined that slides into the plastic pipe on the intake manifold that conectes to the egr cooler crossover pipe. So far so good. Also had the #2 egr replaced a month prior to installing the plug. Talked to the Volvo shop supervisor about blocking the egr, he stated that unplugging the egr valves will work provided that the egr valves are in the closed positions. It will throw a code when they are unplugged, but the engine will run cooler and get a little beter mpg.

when you unplug EGRs ecu throws codes and takes some power of the enignes HP
I had cross pipe pluged for a while and when took it out.. engine seems to be more responsive and stronger.. got better MPG as well..

Left side of the block there is a valve all the way down by the bellhousing there is one issue if u do disable it you wouldnt have engine brake at all u can just unplug the valve and it will stay closed u might want to check of the epg is stuck halway closed or failed mechanicaly that has happened to us so many times we just replaced on our whole fleet bad or not the actuall epg cylinder is behind the turbo in the cast housing there is one airline coming to it check make sure it cycles correnctly mechanicaly and its not getting stuck also u want to check youre boost system and make sure no leaks as d12 is notorious for that as well and finally replace the boost sensor if it has never been replaced we gained .5 mpg just replacing the boost sensors youll know if its ever been replace if its black not green like the rest of the engine located on the intake manifold a little bit to the right of the dipstick let me know if u need anything else u should be getting better mpg than that we filly got our 04 with 10 and 375 rears up to 6.5 to 7.2 but it was a headache figuring everything out
