Blowing a Tire on the Highway

Last week I rounded a curve and found a Super Single complete tread laying right in the middle of the road. Now that's a substantial hit for today's cars; could easily case a wreck and fatality. Now, not 100 yards away sat Averitt; the "donor" of said tread cap. Hollered at him and his answer was "F--- it and F--- them." Basically, the same answer as you all gave.

Soon or late we'll get another law about this and oh, the crying will be horrible to hear. This is how we get these laws, by being a--holes. Leave it for somebody else and those "somebody else's" will make us pay.

If I lose a big chunk of rubber, YES I will remove it from the roadway. At times I will even stop and haul YOUR leavings if I see it's particularly dangerous. I don't like the idea of some 16 yr old new driver (or soccer mom with a carfull of kids) losing control and wrecking when they hit that heavy chunk of rubber. Some kid dieing cause I was too lazy? No thank you.

It's called Personal Responsibility..... apparently something few people have ever heard of.

On the other side of the coin most state police do not want you on the highway doing what road maintenance crews do. When I was in the truck I didn't stop, however, I'm loaded up with gasoline. If I'm in my POV and I see what you saw I will stop if safe and remove it. If it's not safe a simple phone call to the state police works well too.
