Try a propane torch sometime... lol

My son and I sat over one mound for an hour or so, crisping every one that dared come above ground. There must be billions of those things in one mound because we got bored well before the mound ran out of ants.

I don't wanna play with em. I want to kill em all. 8 ounces of gas down a broom handle size hole....works wonders.

Drawing a line at the property edges, insures the pesky #####'s don't come onto my property.

My neighbors spend all summer, dosing them with environmentally safe pesticides....that never work.

lol... we sorta did that with one and learned that they can come out of there a LOT faster than you can torch 'em. We had to make a hasty retreat. They won that battle but we won the war.

They are actually quite fun to study. In spending time watching their habits and what they eat, I came up with my own fire ant killer... a mixture of hamburger, smushed up june bugs and borax. It knocks them back for a little while.

Just wanted to clarify that I really do have a good trainer. I was shocked that he told me I had to pull into the inspection site and I did not know about them. LOL. My trainer has over 30 years of trucking experience. He also told me about the agriculture stops in Florida are open 24 hrs every day. I was just using this forumn for more information. Thanks,

Just pour a little (about 10 gallons) gasoline over it. Then stand back for about 5-minutes before you throw a match on it & listen to the "KAWHUMP". They'll be gone then. Best time is about 0300 when all the neighbors are asleep!:biggrin_2553:

When I was a kid on the farm we used to go fishing with the same stuff that that idiot Tim McVey use in Oklahoma City. I'm not posting the formula or how we did it for obvious reasons. But when that goes off you can take your pick of what you want for supper.

I had this happen to me when i started out, this was in NM, their was two signs posted at ground level with the second having two red flags at the top of, for whatever reason it did not register to me they were implying commericial vehicle's.

i was used to seeing scale's and POI, OPEN or CLOSED.

fwiw, the bear told me that the citation carried no point's, then i later learned from legal services that i joined right after that, that it depends on my home state, which btw carries 2 pts.

    live and learn.
