Blown fuse help

Discussion in 'CB Radio Forum' started by Big Schmidty, Aug 15, 2007.

  1. I'm driving a 2000 Sterling. It has an overhead console that is hard wired for a CB. I touched the pos?neg wires together and lost power. I check the main fuse b ox under the hood and couldn't find a blown fuse. Is there another fuse box someplace else?? Thanks in advance.

I am not familiar with the sterlings....touching two wires together is not a good way to find a HOT wire......
The tractor may have auto reset breakers if so equipped ....after the short is repaired ...the breaker will reset itself. If you checked it immediately after blowing the circuit it will not have any fire in the wire. You may want to seek the help of a more experienced CB tech....

not a good way to check car battery either.... might have shorted something in the radio...? theirs a few different things it could be..

  5. I accidentally touched the wires together. I got it figured out, is another fuse bank behind a dash panel....replaced the blown fuse and now good to go.
