Depending on how the heat is displaced with any tank instance...it could explode, but the flammable issue is truely there.
Under the new CSA rules, better follow the litle book rules! If that T/S misses one delivery...you know what...they can wait for the safe delivery of the load, or the company can dispatch out another load. Besides, the drivers waiting are going to be spending some $$$ in the store where the profit margin is higher..like candy, soda, toys!!!! OP said the remaining tyre was allready running hot.otherhalftw Thanks this. -
I brought the post forward that clearly states 98k, so this could be turned around to also prove that you don't pay attention except to some renegade super trucker O/O who complains about the costs is operating today. The only time to continue on with a HazMat load and a blown tire is to get to the nearest safe place for repair...especially not 140 miles.
One more tidbit....the OP didn't say he was a 5 axle truck, he said 3 axle trailer...no mention of the axle/tag axle configuration of the truck.....you know the old saying about "ASSUME" ...IT MAKES AN "A-- of U and ME"allniter Thanks this. -
allniter Thanks this.

Lots of ADVICE posted but here is the part that worries me about the OP who knew he had a bad tire , adjacent tire running hot and loaded heavy
It was really tough to keep it under 60mph when I was on a 75mph interstate in a truck that isn't governed.otherhalftw, fland and Roadmedic Thank this. -
otherhalftw Thanks this.

if he had any sense at all,he would have pulled over this isn't any loads worth you're life or mine.i hope the next time he will pull over and get it fixed, before he kills someone.
otherhalftw, NavigatorWife and FLATBED Thank this. -
OH EM GEE! YOU DROVE ON A FLAT TIRE? OH THE HUGE MANATEE.
LoL
I'll run 'em flat if I need to or pull over when I need to. Depends on the situation.
Had one 2 weeks ago where I ran 50 miles to the nearest town. Kept and eye on, kept speed down, was empty. Had one a week later. Couldnt run with it, stopped on the next offramp. Had one 2 days ago. Recap tread shredded and pulled my mudflap hanger into the good tire. Stopped safely down the road in a spot that gave drivers a 30-second visibility. -
NavigatorWife, Autocar, Spamalot and 1 other person Thank this.
