I'm not an O/O but I figured this would be the best place to ask. I'm picking up a load here in Tx. for BNSF going to Mt. They sent me a text message with a link attached telling me to click on the link, which I did. It went to a Micropoint website that said 'nothing more is needed'. Will they be able to track me now? I googled micropoint and it said I have to click on a button to be activated which I never did. I don't really care if they can track me but what will peeve me is if they can track me just by me clickng on that link without knowing it'll activate my phone to where they can stalk me:biggrin_25513:

What are they going to do if I would just ignore the text message?? There's nothing in the contract that says they can track us so they couldn't just cancel the ld

Coyote has the same thing you can opt in for, I just say no to it and get text or call the old fashioned way. It triangulates from cell towers and locates the nearest towers from my understanding only, not and expert.

Foreword the text to your wife. Have her answer it... When they call and ask why you haven't left town yet, you will know they are tracking your phone.

I could allways give them my Thailand mobile number. That would get them going.

Simple, yet quite effective. Great idea.

Well, unless you are planning to hijack the load and sell it, why do you care if they track you? It's their stuff. They have a right to know where you are with their material. After you deliver, they drop the trace.

I see loads for cell phone tracking on occasion. If I have a choice, I choose someone elses load.

They don't own the load they may not even be the originating broker. And they can keep your cell information in their system forever if they wanted to.
Panther tried that with me I just deleted their text and never clicked on them. Your mentality is why everything is turning into nanny state here. Have you ever heard of privacy? It's none of their business, same mentality is where "backhaul" come from.
