Typically they don't care, that sort of thing isn't their concern... the load and your intentions, re: working, importing, etc., are what they concern themselves about. License, insurance, etc., that's the pervue of DOT, state police, etc. So long as you have a valid "in-transit" permit (should be supplied by ICBC and assuming it is valid in the U.S.), you're golden.
FWIW, when I brought my truck back, I got an in-transit from the dealer to get me to the border, and an Alberta one to get it the rest of the way home. Your situation is a little different and honestly I would be surprised if you could get a valid permit from ICBC for U.S. travel.

Post anything from dealer, (bill of sale etc) in the passenger side of windshield, it may help.
-
The only time the bill of sale would be of value is if he gets pulled over by law enforcement on the road or at a scale and needs to prove ownership.
kidder, you will have to go through open scales as required according to the various jurisdictions you go through, unless exempt, eg., "All trucks over #,### pounds must stop, RVs exempt.", or "All commercial trucks must stop." ( you aren't, so you don't). Just follow the instructions on the signs. -

I got my S/s chains from $tealership in Madison, WI for $100 a pair, while in North Bend TA in WA they want $220+tax for them, or $200 no tax at Flying J in Belgrade, MT, for example. -
It's snowing on Snowqualmie right now and east bound was shut down earlier. Now its just a 10 mile backup. I've only got 1500 lbs on, so I'm trying to decide what to do.
OP, I'd recommend stopping at Wheat Montana as they make a great sandwich and their cinnamon rolls are fantastic. Plus you could load up that bobtail with all the 5 gallon buckets of wheat you'd ever need!!!! -
Thanks in advance.

I actually got what is called a 'binder' from ICBC which is an "in-transit" permit that allows me to drive the truck either in the US or Canada and be insured..
