Bobtail across the US (Detroit to Seattle)

    You are correct ... I was just using the terminology that my ICBC agent used "in-transit". But you are right, it is just temporary insurance to get it where it is ... back to BC. Even to get it out of Ontario I have to get a permit (which I was told ... if driving through Canada is an true 'in-transit' permit). I suppose technicallly, I am supposed to get a permit for every state I am going to go through as well.

    Hi Everyone,

    Just an update. So I made it across the country with no significant issue. In South Dakota, we hit about 3"inch of ice on the road which put everyone either in hotels or truck stops. When I hit snoqualmie pass - I had to chain up (with about 300 other trucks) - again no issues.

    Additionally, I did "blow" every weight scale between Michigan to Washington and never once got pulled over. I thought for sure I would have ... but made it the whole way!

    Anyways, thanks for all the advice.
