Limited services especially since covid but I believe 24 hr fuel in miller. Used to be a truckstop in Crawford, NE. Parking and food in lusk and of course all the big chains in rawlins.

And now, to rephrase my question. Leaving from Minneapolis to utah..say SLC for simplicity. Best route in winter. Thanks in advance. I'm sooo spoiled running Midwest for so many years, I'm kinda lost.

    Really depends on the weather.
Go w then s. Or go s then west.
Most just go to Des Moines and hang a right.
We used to run the kadoka route every week

Suspect Zero and UturnGirl Thank this.

Ok thanks. I am going to try kadoka tomorrow. I will fuel up before I go.

OK. I thought you were running overnight.
Daytime you'll see it's a beautiful run and more services open.

That's great! Like I said there's nothing like a brand new truck where you know it will be taken care of mechanically and will not get ruined by getting dirty on the inside. Nothing like that new truck smell! lol

So if the idle free a/c unit auto starts the truck if the batteries get low, then it sounds like it's a middle ground between an APU where the truck NEVER has to start for the (truck) batteries to start and an opti-idle where the truck has to start EVERY time for the a/c to come on.

Hopefully the truck never has to start when you go to sleep then. If the truck runs 8 - 10 hours per day, then it should be pretty charged up when you end the day even if you use the inverter for a microwave or crock pot or some other cooking tool (which you'll be awake anyways so who cares if it has to start up for a few minutes). I'm thinking when you go to sleep, at least while the truck's battery is brand new, that it won't have to start the truck to recharge to the batteries if just the a/c unit/fridge is running.

Obviously I don't know that as I've never had a unit like yours (only APU's) so maybe I'm wrong, but hopefully I'm right and the thing never has to kick on while you go to sleep with the a/c on.

    UturnGirl Thanks this.
