Losing the farm is an expression. If I had a pit to hiss in I would sell it. 3 years. I only needed 3 years without some tragedy and I could retire. But guess that wasn't the plan.

When they say “Don’t Mess With Texas” they aren’t BSing-especially if a CDL is involved!
As our friend @Chinatown stated,it’s all run by insurance companies now! Who pulled you over, local or state DPS?Last edited: Nov 9, 2023

Here's the whole story:
I was off duty and in my personal vehicle when I left our company's new terminal to head home. I decided to visit a mobile home dealership on Jacksboro highway in Fort Worth.
I am completely unfamiliar with this area of the metroplex so when my GPS guided me to take Silver Creek Rd, I had never been on it before. As I turned off loop I-820 I immediately entered construction that funneled traffic into a coned oncoming lane requiring careful concentration. As I left the construction, I did not see any speed limit sign.
Once the road opened up, it appeared to be a typical texas farm to market rural highway, which are usually 60 to 65 mph highways. My GPS did not display any speed limit, so it was not recorded. There were no vehicles behind or in front of me to match speed. Infrequent oncoming traffic appeared to be traveling at a good clip. I decided to go between 55 and 59 as a cautious choice.
When I rounded a curve and saw the patrol car in the brush, I did not brake thinking I was ok. When he pulled out behind me, I eased off the throttle to 55, but was still unconcerned.
When he pulled me over and announced I was on a 35mph highway I was aghast. I told him I "had no idea" and asked him did he know there was no speed limit sign. He replied, "Yes there is. I know because I check it every day on my way out here."
He asked me to "have a good day" as he walked away leaving me staring at a citation that has the potential to strip me of my livelihood and 20 years as a professional driver with a heretofore unblemished MVR.BennysPennys, Old_n_gray, Sons Hero and 7 others Thank this. -
Uturn, look up a company called Lazer Spot. They have yard positions everywhere and maybe one that is in house and will accept your ticket.
