We had a lazy ### drunken lineman at EZ. He took the tandem pole setter up the road a mile from the shop to remove a temporary pole at a local church.
Sets up on the side of the road, pulls the pole (25’) and lays it down in the rack on top beside the boom and auger.
Raises the outriggers and heads to the shop….. makes it 500 feet before the boom catches a bunch of cables crossing the road at an angle, lays the truck over in the drivers side and puts our biggest and best pole truck out of service.
I know we all forget things occasionally, but my lord…..

Many times I’ve started a truck at EZ to let it build air, few minutes later hear a noise from the truck and realize the pto is engaged. Sadly our parts replacer didn’t feel a warning light on the pto was necessary.
Odd thing is, that truck had just been driven in from out of town, quite obvious now why the driver said it lacked power on the interstate….!Big Road Skateboard and rollin coal Thank this. -
Is it possible to hear the PTO at highway speeds?
Kyle G. Thanks this. -
The few trucks I have driven with a PTO always made a whining noise that would only get louder the faster you go, but I’ve pretty much only driven old clunkers so I don’t know if all of them are that waymjd4277 Thanks this.
