hey does anyone have any idea where this soot/ carbon could be coming from exactly?

Truck was running fine, I shut it off and went to sleep. woke up and started the truck, check engine light came on & then the stop/shut off engine light came on.. I then retrieved the code and it said Boost Pressure..

I attached the pic to see if anyone else had any related issues or any ideas...

Also, I had EGR valves and Doser Valves replaced in this truck 3 weeks ago.. The engine is a 2008

    Thanks for any help

that looks like you have exhaust leaks not boost leaks might be the turbo bolts are loose of a bad exhaust manifold gasket maybe

I had my exhaust manifold replaced due to it cracking. Later I had a coolant leak that I went looking for. I took off everything on the right side of my cat and found a total of 7 bolts (2 in the exhaust manifold) that were only hand tight.

A lot of people make the mistake of not replacing exhaust bolts when they do turbos or manifold or even loctiing them i always do both cuz ive had a few bad experiences with people trying to be cheap and it turned into extra labor for me so now no more options

image.jpeg sorry for the late reply everyone.. it ended up being a hole in the flex pipe of the egr cooler.. So the entire egr cooler had to be replaced.. The flex pipe part is not sold separately.. I tried some temporary fixes but nothing seemed to work so I just ended up replacing the cooler.. You'd think they would've made the flex pipe piece removable.. (Wishful thinking) lol

In the pic, I sprayed some WD 40 against the wall behind the flex pipe to locate the leak after hearing an air leak which is what is shown in the pic..

I keep a spray bottle with soapy water in it for that (and finding air leaks). Works great. Just start the engine and begin spraying. If you have leaks, there WILL be bubbles. I check my system about once a month or so.
