Let's see Prime is big company.

They might offer 46 but what kinda of miles also what kind of working conditions?

Secondly a big company has lits of "bureaucracy" the kind that would make government "jealous" secondly a company the size of Prime probably sets the trucks back 62 mph just like Swift can't even pass or get out of the way if ya had too.

Good Lord people, if the guy found a job and he's happy with it... Let him be, he can make his own decisions. He didn't come here asking who he should work for.

If you are happy where you work... Yay Team, good for you. If he is happy with what he found... Yay team, good for him.

What these high falutin big shots don't seem to understand is .38 cpm is starting pay.

Secondly this is long haul more driving less stopping and screwing around.

Yeah there's places that offer better sure but how much screwing around?

I am not trying to make 2/3 stops per day that just eats up your time then dink around chasing an empty trailer or be told after a 300 mile haul I gotta shuttle pallets across town did enough of that kind of junk at Swift.

This is true in part...the reason I prefer hourly rates...salary or pay by loads over miles anyway.

Be a nice thought or alteast they could be forced to pay "minimum wage" for On Duty Not Driving logged.

Heck the grain elevator paid by the load even though punched a time clock every day at the yard.

Unfortunately there's a loophole in Federal Labor Law that classifies truckers more like farm workers and in America we decided that workers are scum and Big Business can do no "wrong" so don't expect meaningful change in the foreseeable future.

Since this whole thread was derailed, I'd like to ask what people think is new or different (serious) between 2005 and today. 10 years is a big time chunk. What can a returning driver expect out there?
