I use the Bose Q3 flying and they're great. Not sure about driving, though.

its not worth even being a driver if you lose your hearing. Though so many drivers have lost so much hearing that they dont even know that they are missing anything. You get used to deadness. Its just normal.
I want a solution....someone must have found one... -
if you can't drive legally, then you shouldn't be driving.

I hope you're driving perhaps a log truck or dump truck locally? Otherwise, I've never heard of a truck that's so loud so as to a cause for hearing loss concern. I wouldn't drive such a vehicle but I guess jobs must be scarce for the OP. I'd go to Walmart and buy a pair of Sony NC headphones for probably a 1/10th the cost of the Bose. You don't want ear protection on the level of large shooting muffs because that may shut out too much ambient noise. If all you can hear is music in the headphones, that's too much noise reduction but I doubt you'll get that if it's as bad as you say. No noise canceling headphones will completely shut out ambient noise but any will take the edge off which is all you want to do.
Is it even legal to drive while wearing a pair of full headphones if a cop were to see them?
