Dear Fat Trucker, I am sorry to tell you that your sources have misinformed you. Only a portion of your post is accurate. Yes, I do pull their trailers. It's called a "Power Only" program. Many companies offer it (JB Hunt, Prime, Interstate to name a few). The name on the truck is BLT, the MC/DOT/KYU/IFTA sticker....all BLT. All DOT regs are the responsibility of the motor carrier (BLT). Have you ever seen a company pulling someone else's trailer before? Certainly in your 14 years of driving you have? Maybe you never noticed?

 

Have you ever seen a company pulling someone else's trailer before He is likely the guy on the CB with the "NEWS" flash that JB HUNT bought SNI , or CRE bought SWIFT when he sees a tractor from 1 company pulling the competitions trailer

 

I was told this by her husband, when I answered their help wanted ad on Craigslist

As others have noted, there is always 2 sides to every story. Usually pretty certain that if you hear 2 different stories, you can discount the one that sounds way out in left field. There are many bad companies out there and when you hear stories of 100% turnover, you know to avoid that company. There was a lot of hostility in the original posters comments but looking at what you responded with, your story sounds more reasonable.

Happens all the time actually. The company has a load and no tractor to move it, so will contact another to pull it. Not unheard of.

 

Heck I've pulled 3 different trailers at the same time Could of been a good CB rumor on a MAJOR takeover / merger if they were from 3 major competitors
