Theres still lots of old antiques out there being worked everyday. 40-70 year old trucks owned and operated by 20-50 year old folks. You just don’t see them doing the otr or coast to coast slave grind.
Some of them have had the cabs put on newer chassis and drive train but most if not all are still 100% mechanical engines. Theres still a few guys running cows and heavy equipment statewide that have a Kta and 1693’s.
Bunch’s of us don’t run and jump to the nearest dealer just because something new and shiny comes out.
I truely believe every time you go out and buy something new we as a society are bringing it one step closer to the demise of automotive freedom. The only way this new tech that is going to self drive and be electric is getting out there in the world is we keep buying it. I for one don’t.

There is a 30 year old guy that is running a triple green one with a factory installed matching double eagle sleeper out of Grand Prairie TX. He runs tire loads everyday. I think it’s a bc 3. The paint is original and in decent shape.

I did my 1st cow hauling in 1 with a double eagle sleeper back in 1980.. those truck's are so simple even a caveman can fix 1... lol
I don't think I ever seen 1 with a Cat motor.. and the 4200 short hoods all had driptroits it seems all the 4300s had Cummins its seems like..
I want 1 to restore to pull my low boy so I can send this Mack to a new home

Hi, I'll do no such thing, 1st, I don't go far from my central Colorado town and 2nd, if I did look at or for a truck for someone, especially a "member" from here, it would be "no charge". Good luck on the 4300 Cornbinder, the closest I found was this single axle in Seattle,,

Here's one in your area, without FB, I don't think you can access the Marketplace,,or if the links even work,

if you didn't get these, check out some farmers auctions, got to be some coming up in Iowa, almost all had or have some large car they hauled poop with . Let us know if you find anything.
Oh, one more thing, my 1st trucking job, he had 2, 4300 Eagle's like your picture, a yellow and white and a brown and white. Most all our runs were in state, or Illinois, and I drove a Mack R600 daycab, the Eagles were for the "OTR" stuff, which I wanted no part of. They had 350 Cummins, 13, big rubber on Reyco, they were considered the "Big Trucks" of the fleet. I think I built a model of that truck too.

I should of clarified better I didn't want for you to have to leave the comfort of your home I was hoping to talk you into just surfing the internet for 1..I don't seem to have the time to screach like I should
Most the farmers here in Iowa all have newer KW 9's and 389s.. they have nicer trucks they use 60 days out of the year than
I drive everyday.. they would cut up a old Transtar I've been looking for 1 for a couple 3 years.. their rare as he's teeth it seems
And I would not ask anybody to do that for free especially a member here

Absolutely, for free, my friend. Like I say, without FB, it's kind of tough, I will keep my eyes open, if I see something in your area, I'll ask about them on FB, as I'm a member( can't get rid of it) and PM you if that's cool. An auction March 5 in Ames, had a couple trucks, a '98 Pete long hood, Detroit, big sleeper, I've been to auctions where that stuff sell pretty cheap, like maybe $15g's? Farm auctions are the best because, many times, you might be the only one bidding on a Peterbilt at a John Deere auction. This Spring, with as bad as things are, be a great time and place to buy one..One of the FB links was a '84 359, Cat motor, sleeper gone, looked tired, $15g's, $10 cash might get it, in Deerbrook, Wis. I'll keep looking,,,

Thanks.. it doesn't have to be in my area if you find 1.. the last truck I bought was 1600 miles away in the Butt hole of creation Utah.. I was doing my taxes a week or ago and totaled up the miles I drove last year trying to buy trucks I guess my habit was few more miles than I realized it was 5160 miles and still came home empty handed

I'm taking it, you want something somewhat ready to go, eh? I mean, there's a lot of junk,,I mean, projects out there,,the IH is asking a lot, like I say, most ran the wheelss off them, and what about KW? I think there's more W9's than Petes. Here's one,,already sold, but DR's were nice trucks, be safe today,,
