Bought the sleeper off the 4300 for my black 4200. Wish sometimes I’d kept the 4200. It had a 8V92TA @ 435 hp. Double frame and twin steering boxes.

There was a few 4300’s with cats, and there was 4300’s with 2 strokes.

I still remember the 4300 Eagle brand new on the lot where dad worked as a mechanic at the International / GMC dealership…. BE090F3E-2F56-47BA-A57D-71BE4B278C8C.png

E8E57E35-438B-4F34-B93A-8E9EE4EA541B.png I’m still running a Big Cam Cummins in my bucket of bolts. So far parts are not a big issue as far as the engine goes.

But as mentioned earlier, parts for my Rockwell’s may be a horse of another color.

Thankfully I have spare engines for parts, and the knowledge to do the work.

I’m almost 900 miles from home right now, and no fear of getting where I need to be. Don’t need a computer to figure it out and no DEF neither….;)

I bought this 83 K100C as a project. It’s solid as can be body and frame wise, but the original A model Cat was down. So I bought a 3406B 7FB to replace it. I’m not very savvy on Cats, but was lucky enough, that a man, known to many as a ghost in the night has the Cat knowledge I don’t have. And has been helping me along.

I’ve driven trucks for Pop with air assist steering, wig wags, KT Cummins, torsion bar suspension, and other various oddities of today.

The aerodyne Cabover was one of my favorite Cabovers. And seems to be my grandsons too….. :) 5D7FB304-3526-4BE0-8940-B34A15F94BF2.jpeg

This right here.....everyone says CAT parts are high.....cause they won’t repair what they have. For example a water pump rebuild kit is less than 200 bucks takes an hour to tear down and put it back together once it’s off. Granted that takes more knowledge than righty tighty lefty loosey but not much

I’m in Kissimmee Florida right now waiting for my customer to buy equipment at this auction. I can’t tell you how many engines I’ve seen that have been cut with a torch to prevent rebuilding them.

My understanding, if the gooberment gives you grant money to replace the old generator, air compressor, you have to disable the old unit…, D105AE9C-F0F7-45D8-9B72-3433169BD8F0.jpeg

Growing up I always remember everyone rebuilding everything like water pumps , alts, and starters. Seemed like the only thing you bought at the parts house was belts and hoses and tires. Even most gaskets could be hand cut with the exception of head gaskets.

Yep. Cash for clunkers. Obamas green new deal of 2009. We have lost tons of old usable iron because of
    it.
The bad part is it was happening to good dealer trade-ins too. Some guys didn't know it was happening and they later find their old truck with a hole in the block sitting useless to go to scrap.
They are doing it with big commercial and home generators as well. A neighbor is a general manager for wakasha pierce and he says they have to drill holes in block of every gen set they replace into the new tier b.s. Some have no hours on them but the gubment deemed them dirty.
