I like to do my homework. When I get into things I looked up the original owner who sadly passed away but I got a few pictures of it from the guys son. Bought and used as a logging truck out of MN. Here it is.
Bought a 359 Peterbilt with a Detroit 8v92. Did I get a good deal?

The shift boot is now secured the steers clear the bumper I have replaced the batteries and the tow hooks are in decent shape I even replaced the tow hook springs. Sorry x1Heavy I've hounded my dad for years to switch from tractor and wagons to a semi. Now that I finally got one I think I'm going to keep her.

When it comes to them old trucks they are only worth what some one is willing to pay. Sounds like your happy with it, so drive the wheels off it.
spsauerland, Ruthless, AModelCat and 3 others Thank this. -
The paint was done by a local shop Father/son. The son is who i bought the semi from. While working on it he kept telling me he never should have sold it. They added rhino liner to the paint on the frame. And do a lot of semi frames that way.

Looks like a good truck. It is always nice to see things restored and put back into circulation. Do you have windshield wipers on it?
Farmer with a truck and x1Heavy Thank this. -
He just have the posts on there no blades at all.
Noticed no heater mirriors too. Not sure if you wanna run electric to them
Maybe some silacone for the cab upper marker lights. And maintain the rear cab window/sleeper portal area. That will be a constant eyeball for maintaince.
I really would like to get under that hood, inside the steer tires straight down inside the frame rails, fuel filters, starter etc. Let's get a shot of that fuse panel on the interior pax side. I think there should be a decent one for the whole truck there.
Normally older iron has some serious issues but when work as done this well for what you have planned to use it with farm to market via coop 5 miles down the road etc I think you did really well. I feel envious though in a small way. But I won't let that bother me. It's motivating, it's what it is.Farmer with a truck Thanks this. -
Ahhh. The loaded question. Lol. No I do not at the moment. $600-800 for a conversion to electric. Which I'm not going to do. I'm still currently looking for a place that either sells or rebuilds old trico wiper motors. And yes im kind of nostalgic I love older stuff. These days things aren't built the way they used to.Opendeckin and x1Heavy Thank this.

Sounds good to me. Pics of the Pete as it continues to rehab are fine by me!x1Heavy Thanks this.

I ran my cb antenna cables through the old heated mirror holes and siliconed them and also siliconed the marker lights (after one leaked) the sleeper hole was covered with a piece of sheet metal and they left a hole for a 30x18' window which had to be custom cut to fit around the edges. I don't have any pics of the steering under the hood yet but will update with pics later.x1Heavy Thanks this.

That's all then, I cannot come up with anything else other than to make sure that steering column is greased and sealed along with the bolts, spring leafing, brackets and so forth etc. Keep an eye on those. They will be the first to talk to you if there is a problem.
Farmer with a truck Thanks this.
