I am a eternal optimist with a degree in realism.
Drive truck home in the wee hours no insurance or tag.
Lift pump takes a poo on the ride home and dead on the side of the road.
State Boy pulls up checking out the problem. No tag or insurance
Impound and court date and fines.
Borrow tag off company truck. Illegal representation-- Big illegal charge.
My company fires me and it goes on my record.
I can think out of the Box. But life is about Risks and Consequences
Bought a truck, need to get it from Indianna to Michigan.

Seriously thinking about calling Penskie about renting a truck and RGN for the day and just hauling it back.
Don't need another driver and buy them for the day .
Just want to get it back to Michigan.
I have Noo time to spare from work these days -
Some insurance companies want a DOT number for me to gain insurance.
My work finds that out they will lead me to the gallows.Oldironfan Thanks this. -
Try one of the towaway companies. Don’t thing Penske will rent you a Truck only business to business. I did it once when Blew engine to deliver Load. Not cheap. Last time I tried they turned me down .I bought my trailer from them in Ff Wayne. I think your best bet is the drive aways in Indiana maybe. They can tow it like the do the big 5th wheels.
Oldironfan Thanks this. -
If truck is still tagged by the person selling you the truck use that plate and registration, never mind brain fart, you cant otherwise you would fall under their MC number, another can of worms. Insurance is what I was worried about, have too much to loose, if I was sued for something and won, its still going to cost me a bundle to defend myself. I was told to try to get RV insurance. I guess that might work to get it home, you don't need a CDL to drive a tractor, as long as its not driven in commerce. I heard in PA if the tractor has tandems then you need cdl, don't know if that true. Heard from a guy in Canada that turns tractors into toy haulers and 5th wheel camper haulers. Of course you cant register tractor for RV if using a CMV otherwise you would have to pay sales tax. I know in TN if you have tractor with IRP and use it in interstate use you are exempt from sales tax, not FET but state sales tax.
