I would rather have ins on truck if possible. However Indiana isn’t that far and Sunday morning around 100 to 400 am Cops are looking for Drunk Drivers . Just watch out for the Drunks. Otherwise drive-away Companies are all in Indiana they would hook their little car to the back and bring it to you. By the way Good Luck Smart Buy.

Go to court and try to get ticket taken under advisement for 6 mo or 1 yr. If no tickets it goes away. I’ve done this a few times in Mi. Don’t just pay ticket. Next time you’re pulled over they see it and it’s no break for you. Just show up sometimes the Cop will have the idea.Might have to throw in hay again sounds like you left her a bit unsatisfied. Lol Seriously If you lose you can appeal. Let them know you’re willing to appeal if you have to since all you know how to do is drive a truck. That’ll get you some sympathy!!! I speak from experience should have fought and never got first one. Almost lost privileges about 10 yrs ago. Same with 2 friends of mine around same time. I think there was a conspiracy to thin the herd back then but that’s just me

When I was in Arizona my car was registered back in Va. When it came time for my yearly inspection Va required at the time I had to call DMV. I got an exemption based on "It being garaged in Va". As to them I was out of town for work...mind you I'd been out of town for like 3 years...lol.

Dunno if that will help. Maybe Michigan/Fl have similar things.

Far as Florida drivers go...yes...their crazy down there. Whenever I visit Orlando/Disney...I leave wondering if they just give out driver's licenses with no test, or anything. Crazy ### drivers. Same with Pa.

Both of those states make Va and Dc drivers look like pros. NC drivers also have issues, mostly transplants though I noticed. Haha.

Locals don't usually have a license. Hence all the scooters down here. They like catching dwi/duis down here.

Sirscrapntruckalot - Green means go. Red means stop, not speed up an then slam on the breaks at the last second cause you decided to not kill yourself an go through the busy intersection in a rush to get your starbucks.

1st off I didnt say anything about insurance. But putting "not for hire" stickers on a truck means f all to law enforcement. Its some gimmicky crap that rv'ers using hd trucks came up with so they wouldn't get hassled by the police. If not for hir was a thing, all kinds of turds would try to use it to skirt dot laws.

Transfer in Mi rolling stock to be used in interstate trucking. No sales tax. After the fact you move to fla doesn’t matter you already have title in your name.I don’t know if you have to get a Fl title to get regristration as a Fl resident but you shouldn’t have to pay sales tax if you do.Bobtail or non trucking liability ins may be the way to go.I wonder what the RVers do since they obviously don’t have experience. I would put Truck in my wife’s name . Then drive it home under no fault I’m covered in anyone’s vehicle. That way she gets all tickets. Lol Seriously I wonder if there’s a loophole to be found. I doubt it. Check with your auto ins. We got a guy in town who does all his running around in an old Army Truck bobtail. I would get the ins if possible and take a chance without plate have title with me same as when I buy a car out of state. Except I make the wife drive w/o plate!!

I've known a few folks who pulled their rv's (5th wheels, bigger travel trailers, etc) and used a medium duty semi I think they called it. if I recall they did have not for hire decals/stickers on the door. Not sure if it helps or not but I have seen it before on several folks who pull rv's. An they are full time folks so their not doing it as work. Most people I meet have motorized RV's so I tend to notice the ones who pull theirs and the vehicle they use. Heh. One couple I remember were in their 70s an still drove the big truck to pull their 5th wheel.

Setup was like this if I recall properly. Not the same truck, but it'll work for my purposes.

The older folks had one like this but far nicer then this. Wish I had a photo of it, met them while doing my time with Amazon as a peon in the warehouse/FC. Good folks.

Anyhoo..meant to add in my first post...nice looking truck. Good luck with getting it figured out. I imagine the anticipation is just about killing you to get it home.

Sirscrapntruckalot - Flooding? That's called high tide around these parts.

I did a search on fmcsa “ not for hire” - nothing only “ for hire “ rules. I was just curious as I see that all the time.
