AND the kick of it there are two things within the state that the legislator has to address, one is the management of the catastrophic insurance fund and the other is rewriting the laws to ensure that there is the use of the funds from that catastrophic insurance fund used for lifetime care, right now the insurance companies are charging us outrageous amounts of money while fighting every claim and not doing what they are supposed to do.

I think there is also another issue, passenger health care, a lot of auto insurers won't insure the passenger when there is a medical claim. They force the passenger to use their own auto insurance to make the claim, even though they were not driving their car.

I have no idea what has gotten your pantys in such a bunch but I never said it’s a legal requirement to put not for hire on the door.
It’s courtesy to dot and law enforcement to let them know without verbal contact when you fly by the scale house that you are not a commercial operation.
There are lots of things that are put on the side of a truck that are not required by law but are helpful to keep face to face contact with law enforcement to a minimum.
And most dot cops appreciate it.
Here is another example for you.
Some of us put the GVW on the side of the truck , especially those of us who are under 80,000#.
This is not required by law but
This helps them if you roll on to the scale and your dot number doesn’t load on there computer and they can’t get your information.
They don’t have to walk out and ask you for your cab card to see if your weight is legal or not.
You better believe that anything you can do to keep the dot cop in the scale house and not a face to face meeting with you is a win.

The way I see it is you don’t have a company in your name. You have a license to drive the truck. What’s the difference if it’s a class 8 or a pick up truck? Could be your new Camper hauler.we just brought a pickup back from KY no plate title in hand Mi ins covers me even if I borrow a car from a friend or rental. I had wife drive p/u . I believe your allowed to drive a new vehicle home at least in Mi.
